During the ASTRID User Days 2025, in the context of Critical Communications World (17-19 June, Brussels Expo), the fully equipped command vehicle of the Brussels North police zone was a striking eye cacher. This vehicle – equipped with ASTRID TETRA radios, cameras and modern operational technology – illustrates in a tangible way how communication and coordination on the ground work during large-scale interventions in the Belgian capital.
Visitors of the event were able to explore this vehicle up close.
ASTRID itself was exhibiting its MTU light vehicle on the same stand. This mobile unit is used to provide temporary reinforcement of the radio network at planned events or in emergency situations, such as demonstrations or risky sports events. Thanks to four-wheel drive and a satellite connection, the vehicle can be deployed quickly to locations that are difficult to reach. The MTU has blue flashing lights and has priority vehicle status.
Together, both vehicles provide a clear picture of the crucial role that mobile technology and reliable communication play in the daily operation of the emergency and security services.
